ESTONIAN GLASPERLENSPIEL SINFONIETTA
The orchestra, distinguished for its vividness and virtuosity in the performance of pieces from baroque era until those of contemporary creators, will collaborate with disguised countertenor Nikos Spanatis and promising pianist Alexandros Sarakenidis on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 August 2016 at the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes.

Alexandros Sarakenides is one of the most promising young Greek pianists.
Born in Serres, Alexandros has been nationaly and internationaly awarded, while in 2012 he received the Athens Academy scholarship. He concertises in Greece and abroad as a soloist as well as in cooperation with chamber music ensembles and orchestras, such as the Athens State Orchestra, the Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra, the Brussels Virtuosi orchestra, the Estonian Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta among others. Alexandros has studied in Thessaloniki at State Conservatory and has completed higher piano studies at the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia with specialisation – piano instrumental performance. From 2011 to 2015, he studied with pianist Alan Weiss at LUCA-Arts, Leuven, Belgium. He graduated from LUCA-Arts obtaining highest post-graduate diploma with the highest distinction (summa cum laude). He has also studied with several leading artists, such as Sergio Tiempo, Naum Grubert, Milena Molova, Daniel Rivera, Lilia Boyadjieva, Michael Hauber, G. Hadjinikos, D. Toufeksis, S. Osokins, Katerina and Yanna Polyzoidou.
