REVIEWS

"Nikos Spanatis has a crystal countertenor voice, which he handles with flexibility, power and wide shades. For example, the song of the Scottish Poem “My Heart’s in the Highlands” by Arvo Pärt was an excellent example of using different sound colours and a high voice technique." ESS finland | Jari Pitkänen | Lahti Organ Festival | Kreikkalainen ilta | August 2018
"Sounding beautifully, his velvet, hedonically dark-colored voice enchantingly conversed with the flute of Marc Grauwels ...while his elegant, gently emotional singing gave a touching performance of the aria..." The Journalists' Daily | Brussels Virtuosi Orchestra & Marc Grauwels | December 2015
"...Countertenor Nikos Spanatis gave an excellent performance of the tremendously peculiar vocal melody... the rare category of countertenor extends to that of mezzo soprano, something that under normal circumstances is impossible for a male voice..." Music Paper | Athens Concert Hall | Ergon Ensemble "Tribute to Arvo Pärt" | April 2017
"Exceptional countertenor Nikos Spanatis, I would never believe that the voice I heard is Greek, if I had not read the program..." Rizopoulos Post | Brussels Virtuosi & Marc Grauwels | December 2015
“… the “Mikado” demands singers/actors with spontaneous theatrical instinct, capable to respond without complex, but with frankness and verve to the torrential, hilarious prose and, secondarily, to the vocal demands of the roles… the protagonists of the performance responded ideally:… countertenor Nikos Spanatis (Pouh-Bah)…” | The Journalists' Daily | Greek National Opera | The “Mikado” in Mao’s China | December 2017
"Countertenor Nikos Spanatis was exceptional in his very difficult role of the swan impaled to be eaten" Diastixo.gr | Athens Concert Hall | Carmina Burana Camerata Orchestra & George Petrou
"Mr. Spanatis sings with a lovely tone in his limited contributions (as Nireno) and brings energy to his recitatives.." Orchestra of Patras under George Petrou | MDG Giulio Cesare | Voix des Arts | February 2010
"...while the counter-tenor performed, with the sense of the style and theatricality, with very well-made phrases, a special expressiveness and proper technique." Musica Vitae Chamber Orchestra under Tiberiu Soare | Kathimerini Newspapaer | August 2015
