Odeon of Herodes Atticus Carl Orff: Carmina Burana Marios Fragoulis, Deborah Myers & Nikos Spanatis ERT National Symphony Orchestra Saturday 8 October 2022, 21:00 The multi-member group with the three soloists among which the Marios Fragkoulis, intends to face off on October 8 in Herodion with the best-known choral / symphonic work of the 20th century, the iconic Carmina Burana.

Carl Orff’s music, direct, with a disarming naivety, which however hides within it, a genius concept, paints in a wonderful way images and emotions through time. The influence of fate in people’s lives, the love of nature, love, wine and fun, inspire today in the same way they inspired the would-be monks of the Middle Ages to write these graceful verses.

A new journey through time, from the Bavarian monasteries of the Middle Ages, the madrigals, the Gregorian organ and the wild renaissance dances, the avant guarde of the 1930s, to the eclecticism and deep historical knowledge that characterizes the musical style of our time.
